Around the World at Southwest Key
Celebrating Diversity Through Storytelling
A campaign that honored cultural traditions, amplified employee voices, and fostered a sense of belonging.
Around the World was a national internal campaign created to educate, celebrate, and engage with the diverse cultural holidays and customs observed by employees across the organization. Through original videos, interviews, and photography, Southwest Key highlighted team members from all shifts and locations across the country. The campaign honored individual traditions, amplified employee voices, and promoted a strong sense of belonging.
As the Internal Communications Manager, I led the planning and creative direction of the campaign, ensuring that each story captured authenticity and respect for cultural traditions. I coordinated with national and regional stakeholders to identify employees to feature, developed interview questions, managed the production process alongside the multimedia team, and coordinated events and travel. In collaboration with our copywriter, I crafted internal messaging, edited content, and partnered with the Social Media Manager to publish the campaign across platforms reaching more than 9,000 employees nationwide.
Through this initiative, I applied my skills in storytelling, internal communications, and cultural engagement to create a meaningful campaign that celebrated diversity and strengthened organizational culture.

Project Insights
I learned that leadership is not only about guiding a project but also about creating space for others to shine. By empowering employees to share their stories and collaborating closely with stakeholders, I saw how inclusive leadership builds trust, strengthens relationships, and inspires people to bring their best selves forward.
One of the biggest challenges was coordinating participation across a large, geographically dispersed workforce. With staff working in different states, time zones, and shifts, it was not easy to identify employees to feature and gather their stories consistently. To overcome this, I partnered with national and regional stakeholders, developed clear interview guides, and streamlined the content collection process. By approaching the challenge with organization, flexibility, and collaboration, the campaign successfully showcased stories from across the country and delivered an authentic, inclusive celebration of diversity.
I applied my skills in storytelling, internal communications, and cultural engagement. I also used photography, videography, interview guides, and project management strategies to capture authentic stories and coordinate across national and regional stakeholders.
This project required me to work across diverse cultural contexts and ensure that each story was represented with authenticity and respect. It pushed me to listen deeply, adapt quickly, and strengthen my cultural sensitivity.
The campaign amplified employee voices, celebrated traditions, and fostered a stronger sense of belonging. It reinforced an inclusive workplace culture where employees felt seen, valued, and respected.
I will continue to balance authentic storytelling with organizational alignment. This project taught me how to scale campaigns across dispersed teams while keeping consistency and respect at the core.
I am most proud of creating a campaign that gave employees a platform to share their traditions and feel celebrated. It united people by honoring both individual heritage and collective purpose.
Employees and stakeholders shared that the campaign made them feel recognized and connected, even across different sites and time zones. This feedback reinforced the power of inclusive storytelling and encouraged me to continue building initiatives that strengthen culture and community.
